June 1999 Meeting Minutes - Tuesday 6/1/99 7:30 PM

22 in attendance.
The meeting was slow to start so we covered the Special Tax counts to date first:

We have 348 signatures from tax account owners to date.

Previous minutes were read, accepted.
Financial Report: April error addressed - should have been $3985.37 May report read and accepted.

Treasurer's Report: $7137.37 (report on file)

Membership: 150 members to date, new members voted in.

Sunshine Report: Nothing to report

Special Tax:
(see above) Report on file

Zoning: No Report, except that one of the Hillside houses is in violation. Also proposed house at 1st Ave. in violation and Lois Vildemere advised on this. We have a new member assisting with the massive zoning problems we are facing with new houses.

Clubhouse: No report.

Beach and Parks: Boat and car parked at beach will be moved, Jim Harrington pulled boat ashore when owner of mooring found out it was the YDF illegally using his mooring w/o permission. Harrington gave the boat to Jim from the marina. A 24 foot boat is being donated to SAA from Jim Lavin (resident). Need help with grass cutting (see Bill Harding) Need a new port-a-potty. Richard Brown will get the same as last year. We need poles at the sand retention area to keep sand in place. We can possibly get grants from Federation of South River Assns. to correct erosion of property. Martin will contact Kenny Conners for estimate.

Ways and Means: No report

Social: Fun fair in June for children. Need to contact Jim Harrington from YDF to get in clubhouse to get ball equipment.

Roads & Sanitation: No report.

Police & Fire: 495 stickers have been given out. $260 in keys sold since last report, $320 total to date.We need more poles to keep renegades from driving around entrance gate. Dennis has access to poles will report back. Long discussion on the on-going "passes for friends" discussion - as heated as always. Motion made to only permit temp passes for group events and require 5 day advance notice to Dennis Gheen (head of security). Motion 2nd and passed.

Old Business: Meeting in Tom W. (SCA Legal Counsel) on June 3 with both lawyers, Bill Harding, Martin O'Callaghan and Susan Lanier - re: lawsuit against YDF illegal occupation of clubhouse.

New Business: The SAA is having a safety day on June 19. Speakers, CPR demo. Discussion on having a "Selby on the Bay " community party maybe next month on the beach.
