The Super Storm. Frankenstorm. The Perfect Storm. Whatever you call her, Sandy was not only a large storm, but a meteorological anomaly. A huge hurricane chugging through the Atlantic collides with a large cold front and ends as a large nor'easter. Many feet of snow fell in West Virginia. Ocean City was trampled and lost half the fishing pier and bolted benches. New York saw 40 foot waves! Ocean City saw 20 footers! Annapolis saw wind speeds of over 56 mph. Definitely a historic storm.
