* Jogging Club
I apologize for the past couple Wednesdays. Things have been popping up. This week I'll be attending the middle school Black-Eyed Susan book club at the public library. They meet the second Wednesday of each month to discuss a new book. This month is The Night Gardener. Next month they will be reading Ice Dogs by Terry Lynn Johnson. This is a great opportunity to get those middle schoolers reading!!
* Food Drive
Our Selby-For-The-Hungry Food Drive ends this weekend! If you haven't contributed, then there are several opportunities. You are welcome to bring a nonperishable food item to any of the activities listed above. Feel free to set the items on the counter. We are also collecting pet items. See a full list on the flyer on the website.
The Selby Community will have Dumpsters delivered by County Public Works down at the Beach & Park parking lot on Friday, Nov. 20th and they will be picked up the next morning Nov. 21st.
I know – ONLY 1 DAY – This is what they are making available this year – Sorry!
Please do not leave any of the following:
Junk Cars, Golf Carts, or Trailers
Refrigerators, Freezers or Air Conditioners
Tree Trunks or large logs
Propane Tanks, Oil Tanks and Gas Tanks
Paint Cans with Paint still in cans (empty paint cans okay)
And thank you for not throwing anything in the small green Community Dumpster. We pay for that!!
Thanks & regards,
This Sunday, Nov. 15, at 11:00 we will be ‘folding’ the Swim Nets that were removed last month and ‘stacking’ on wood pallets for winter storage.
Bill Harding, our Beach & Park Chair is seeking Community Volunteers to assist in this process.
There’s really not a lot of ‘heavy work’, but folding these big pieces really requires a couple hands to prevent just rolling them into a ‘big ball’.
Thanks in advance Selby for ‘showing up’ to help!
