The Selby Community Association (SCA) welcomes you to our community website. The SCA is the non-profit organization responsible for the maintenance, protection and improvement of our Selby-on-the-Bay community. This site was developed as a resource to facilitate community, local and statewide interchange of information. We appreciate your patience as we grow and redesign our site according to the needs of our community. We hope that we can keep the information useful and current so as to help the residents of Selby and others take advantae of the wonderful advantages and convenience of the Internet.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Special Tax Fund Annual Budget Meeting, Fiscal Year 2013
The annual budget meeting for the Selby Special Tax Fund (July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013) will be held at the American Legion Post 226 (830 Central Ave.) on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 2:00pm. The budget will be open for comments and discussion. The Selby on the Bay Special Benefit Tax District includes Selby on the Bay, Selby Heights and North Selby.
There will be a presentation and a Q&A session on the construction of our new Community Center immediately following the special tax meeting at the same location.

Santa Visits Selby!
Santa made a very special trip on Sunday, December 18th to visit the kids of Selby-On-The-Bay. We must be pretty special for such an honor!! Santa chatted and took pictures and each child was given a stocking of their own to take home.
Selby Gives Back
Firehouse Santa comes on December 4th, but many folks can't be at the stops on that night. I will be collecting wrapped toys, gently used coats, hats and gloves and non-perishable food items at my house (807 Selby) from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and then will take them to the firehouse the following weekend. If you have anything to donate, then please stop by!!
Also, I will be collecting holiday cards for Soldiers on that day too. The Red Cross has a program called Holiday Mail for Heroes and my kids have been doing this for years. I let them either make or sign holiday cards and mail them to the Red Cross. It's a great way to help kids understand that Christmas isn't all about what people give to you. There are some guidelines for the cards. Please read below:
- Cards must be signed
- Use generic salutations such "Dear Service Member"
- Only cards. No letters.
- No email or home addresses
- No inserts or photos
- No glitter. Many of these cards will be distributed in hospitals and glitter could interfere in the patient's recovery
Please do not put cards in sealed envelopes. You may just slide them into their envelopes. I will send all the cards to the Red Cross together, but it must be postmarked by Friday, December 9th so Wednesday is the only day I will be collecting. Get the kids involved!! They really love decorating their own cards and maybe that one card will make a difference to a lonely soldier. It's a very simple thing to give to someone who has given so much!

Firehouse Santa Is Coming To Town!!
The Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department is once again chauffeuring Santa around in style with lights and horns on December 4th!! They will be entering Selby at 6:15 and making stops along Selby Blvd. at 7th, 5th, 3rd, and Beach Drive. They will proceed to Hillside making stops at 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th. They will be collecting wrapped toys. Please label all wrapped packages with girl/boy and the size or minimum age requirement. The fire department counts on your generosity to make sure that the less fortunate children in our area are not forgotten!!
Selby Thanks-For-Giving Food Drive
A big thanks goes out to the crew in Selby Ridge for donating their amazing baskets to the Lighthouse Organization in Annapolis. Thank you Toni, Tim, Carrie, Carrie, Peachy, Anne, Linda, Lori, Tom and Nancy!!! They were the only folks to donate and I totally appreciate the time and care they put into their baskets. Can you imagine all the families we could feed if every family in Selby donated just one item? Great job!! Thank you!!
